Francis Patrick McNicholas (Gray) was born 1 Oct 1919.  Francis Patrick McNicholas (Gray) and Margaret Lois Schneider were married 10 Oct 1948.

 

Margaret Lois Schneider was born 21 Sept 1918.  Francis Patrick McNicholas (Gray) and Margaret Lois Schneider had the following children:

 

i.                 Charlotte Louise Gray

ii.                Frederick Michael Gray

iii.              Carolyn Amelia Gray

 

Third Generation

 

Fred Glancy Pontius was born 19 Aug 1886 and died April 1966.  Fred Glancy Pontius married Annetta D. Donges who was born about 1897.  They had no children.

 

Sarah E. Pontius was born 3 Feb 1885.  She married Calvin Boli.

 

6. Grover Edward Schneider was born 5 Dec 1884 and died 13 April 1931.  Grover Schneider and Mary Rebecca Pontius were married 5 Oct 1911.

 

7. Mary Rebecca Pontius was born 15 March 1889 and died on 8 Jul 1927. Grover Schneider and Mary Rebecca Pontius had the following children:

 

               i.             Luther Pontius Schneider born, 26 July 1912, died 24 April 1975

               ii.            Rebecca Catherine Schneider, born 27 July 1914, died

               iii.          Mary Elizabeth Schneider, born 13 Sept 1916, died 16 Nov 1952

               iv.           Margaret Lois Schneider, born 21 Sept 1918

               v.            Virginia Miriam Schneider, born 10 Jan 1921

               vi.           Janet Louise Schneider, born 29 Feb 1923

               vii.          Harriet May Schneider, born 1 May 1925

Pearl Edna Pontius was born 1 Jul 1891.  She married Fred Boli who was born 30 April 1885 and died  Oct 1975.  They had one child Eleanor Pontius who married Carl Smith.

 

Katherine Pontius was born 27 Jul 1895 and died Dec 1985. She married PerLee Boli who was born 26 Jun 1887 and died Feb 1964. 

 

 

Fourth Generation

 

14. Glancy Correll Pontius was born in 1858 in Plain Township, Stark County, Ohio. (3)  He died in 1927. (2)  His Ancestral File Number is J1-12423.  Glancy Correll Pontius and Maria Carroll Whipple were married on 31 Jan 1884.

 

15.    Maria Catherine Whipple was born about 1857, the daughter of Ambrose Whipple, and died ________ at 57 years of age from cancer.  Glancy C. Pontius and Maria C. Whipple had the following children:

 

(Glancy C. Pontius subsequently married Laura Sharp, an old-maid school teacher from Wooster, OH who Glancy had hired to tutor his son Andrew Pontius.  Andrew Pontius had fallen behind in his studies when his mother, Maria, died.  Andrew hated Laura and, as soon as he turned 18, enlisted in the Navy to fight in World War I.  It was while he was stationed on the east coast and waiting transport to Europe that he contracted the “Spanish Flu” and died at 18 years of age. Laura was extremely unpopular with Glancy’s children.  She has been described as “rail thin and shrewish; a mean person who enjoyed the comforts afforded by Glancy’s money, but someone who would never, herself, give anyone comfort.  Glancy died when he was 69 years old and survived by Laura, who was put on a pretty thin allowance by Glancy’s son, Fred Glancy Pontius. There wasn’t much communication with Laura after Glancy died.”)

iv.                Pearl Edna Pontius was born 7 Jul, 1891 .

v.                 Katherine Pontius was born 27 Jul 1895 and died Dec 1985.

vi.                Andrew Whipple Pontius was born 25 Jan 1901 and died 7 May 1919. He died while stationed on the east coast in the Navy in WWI I of Spanish Flu. (1)
